Information about my long door 1954 TR2 TS554-O

Page20.htm

The colour of the TR2 was originally Geranium Red and this colour was not very well liked (a bit like this page background), so most Geranium Red cars were resprayed early in their lifetime. When I bought the car in 1973 I took off several layers of paint, including white, British Racing Green, and a mustard yellow colour. When I thought that I had reached the primer, I had in fact reached the original colour, so you can guess what it looks like. I have not seen a car of this colour in the UK except in photographs, but I think that I can get a good colour match from behind the body number plate (see below)

46 BHX body tub - bulkhead

The pinky coloured patch on the left is the colour - obviously the real thing is better than the photo (I hope)

Many people on the Majordomo Triumph list have offered help in how to find the correct match for this colour, the interesting thing being that I did not realise that there is a machine that can be placed on to the desired colour (assuming you have it) and which will give the user a recipe for mixing the colour. I hope to have this done at some point
